    Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at the new (to us) downtown home of The State Press and the Cronkite School. See how the program has evolved and how Cronkite is keeping pace with the changing world of journalism.

    (Please arrive promptly at 10 a.m. at the Southwest entrance of the Memorial Union to be escorted up to the State Press newsroom. )

    PARKING DETAILS: Paid parking is available nearby at the Apache Blvd Structure (entrance is on Lemon St. between College and Normal avenues) and in Gammage Lot 3 (at Forest Ave. and Gammage Pkwy.).

    Get an exclusive look at the main State Press newsroom inside the Memorial Union and chat with current staffers about what it’s like covering ASU’s sprawling campus. 

    Then, take a short walk to the Matthews Center, home of our old "dungeon" newsroom, for a group picture and a peek inside (we’ve worked with the university to gain access, as the old newsroom is now an academic storage space housing sensitive artifacts).

    This is it! Join your fellow State Press alumni from the late ’90s and early ’00s — and our legendary student media advisers, Bruce Itule and Kristin Gilger — for a night of stories, laughter and the kind of reminiscing that only comes from surviving the dungeon together. Buffet dinner. Cocktails. Old stories. New memories. We’ll see you there.

    IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT DRIVING: The ASU football game vs. Colorado is scheduled to kick off at Mountain America Stadium (formerly Sun Devil Stadium) at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7. We’ll have some TVs on at Social Hall for anyone who wants to keep track of the game. We also wanted to provide some guidance on driving to Social Hall as Tempe will be quite busy on our big night.

    • Avoid University Drive and Rio Salado Drive west of McClintock.

    • Avoid Rural Road and Mill Ave when traveling north-south.

    • Exiting the 202 at McClintock should be safe (don’t exit at Rural)

    • Exiting the 101 at University Drive (which is east of McClintock) should be no problem.

    • Exiting the US 60 at McClintock and then traveling north should be no problem.

    • If possible, simply approach Social Hall from the east or south.
